I love licorice, it is a staple in my pantry.

Have you tried Panda brand? It is IMO the best of the best. I also love an ice cream called tiger tail - which I used to eat as a child (I haven’t had it in years) I don’t eat ice cream in general unless they have tiger tail, which is a needle in a haystack finding.

I will seek it out! I’m Australian and I’m almost certain it wasn’t around when I lived there.

Tiger tail is an orange ice cream that has steaks of black licorice throughout, hence the name 'tiger tail'. I have not seen it in years (like 15ish...I think). From the limited search I have done it was mostly available in Eastern Canada, and the East coast (US). Last time I had it was in Maine (though I can't be 100% sure as it was years ago). Supposedly it is still manufactured but, I have not been able to source it where I live... If you ever see it, give it a try - it is wonderful.

I love love love licorice as well, especially the salty kind! My first exposure to licorice in cooking was via a licorice crème brulée somewhere in Farringdon and it was brilliant!

And like you I also have a soft spot for licorice adjacent flavours like fennel, anise, pastis (brilliant in ice cream), fennel pollen, star anise etc
